I did try 4 different apps on my windows PC first and none of them worked with either my 5DIII or 5DIV and one of the downloads even disabled my USB drives that I had my wireless mouse and keyboard connected to. It worked perfectly with no hassle just as his review stated. I did resort to finding a friend with a Mac Book and purchased the app ShutterCheck through the AppStore for $4.99 after reading about it on Dan Carr's Shuttermuse blog: Just wanted to pass along some feedback on this topic. IIRC, newer Canon models do not write that information into image data. The app pulls all the info from a picture (I think it has to be raw format) you provide it

There is a free version and the help says it works for Canon although I have only used it for Sony. Picture Information Extractor (PIE) gives shutter count along with a millions other things.

Not much luck with other apps I've tried. I use Shuttercount on Mac, paid app though but it works beautifully.įind someone with a Mac and use Shuttercount. Thank you, that's not one that I've been able to find on my own, I'll look into this one. It works quite well, but, you have to pay the $5 for each body you use it with. I purchased EOSMSG to get a shutter count from my SL1 that I was selling. However I can't seem to find any where to download. I'm wondering if any one here has any luck with any of the 3rd party shutter count software for Canon EOS cameras using a Windows PC? I've been trying to pull that info from my 5D Mk III and 5D Mk IV bodies to get ready to sell them and have not been having any luck with any of the software I'm finding.
